about this place
The Jazz Café was created in 1996 by Agung Wiryawan and his wife Nina. With Agungs passion for music and Nina’s love of design they created a place where he and other talented musicians could get together and jam in a stylish and intimate atmosphere. The concept immediately proved popular, and the Jazz Café flourished through word of mouth alone to become a landmark in the Bali music scene. Great food & drinks soon had Jazz Café on the map for its excellent cuisine and legendary, creative cocktails. You’ll find us well located just off the main road in Ubud, Bali’s arts and cultural capital. Set in a semi open-air Bali style pavilion, the walls are graced by photos of all-time music greats such as Louis Armstrong and Billy Holiday. Seating options are candle-lit tables encircling the stage or comfortable cushions on raised platforms. Thatch-roofed dining pavilions in the surrounding tropical garden provide cozy private seating areas. We offer free pickup service from hotels in the Ubud area.
"Good Food Great Music"
My friend and I just happen to run into this place one evening and being music majors we went right in. What an awesome cafe, the setting isn't all that elegant which I liked as it fit the just of a Jazz Cafe. They had a great local band playing, the stage was small but made it feel more personable. My friend and I dined on Duck Rolls with Tamarind, Mulberry and Ginger Dipping Sauce, very very good. I enjoyed the Jazz Cafe and ewe plan on returning before we head out of town.
